Journeying into art, I’ve tried many different mediums and techniques including printmaking and ceramics and these experiences all influence my mark-making. I work from my bushland studio in central Pokolbin and use oil paints to create my paintings. I also work ‘en plein air’ or from a carefully set up still-life.
Recently, focusing on landscape I am once again immersed in the process. Doing lots of drawing, I connect with my subject and am inspired to capture the jewel-like colours and shifting light of the natural world. These places hold special memories of horse riding with my father, afternoon drives and walking in bush surrounds.
